01
Innovation is the north star.
Here at the homelab, innovation is at the forefront of every decision. If something can be automated, it will be. If a tool doesn't exist, we build it. Stagnation is a vulnerability.
02
No PR. Just run.
We test in prod. Code review is a loop — a production incident is a teacher. The environment is the test suite. This is a feature, not a bug.
03
Five nines is a corporate floor, not a ceiling.
We strive for nine 5's of uptime — not the classic corporate 99.999%. Five nines means something broke once in the last decade. Nine means it hasn't broken at all in your memory. That's the benchmark.
04
Incident Response is well-tested and working.
Let's just say we love backing up files. If the lab burns down at 2am, the hermes bot in uptime chat got you back up in minutes. IR isn't a plan, it's a muscle.
05
Documentation is King.
Face it, writing docs is mid, so boorrring. We don't waste time doing such melivelant tasks, we waste time automating them! See: https://github.com/BrodyGitsIT/endpoint-inventory
